No. Our charter operates under a blanket commercial vessel license. This covers every angler on board, so you do not need to purchase an individual SC saltwater fishing license for your trip.
Absolutely. We specialize in family-friendly fishing charters. For younger kids (ages 4-10), we highly recommend our Inshore trips. The waters are calm (no sea sickness), the boat ride is short, and we target action-packed species like whiting, bonnethead sharks, and redfish to keep them engaged.
Safety is our #1 priority. The Captain monitors the weather radar constantly. If conditions are unsafe (high winds or lightning), the Captain will call the trip. In this case, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule. We do not cancel for light intermittent rain, so bring a rain jacket!
If you are prone to motion sickness, we recommend booking an Inshore Charter. These trips take place inside the jetties of Ft Sumter and the Charleston Harbor , where the water is as calm as a lake. If you book an Offshore or Nearshore trip, we recommend taking Dramamine or Bonine the night before your trip as a precaution.
Yes! If the fish is of legal size and in season, you are welcome to keep it. We believe in sustainable fishing practices and strictly adhere to all SC DNR regulations. For an additional fee, we provide fish cleaning and bagging at the dock so your catch is ready for the grill. Our Marina has multiple cleaning stations if you prefer to clean your own catch.
Yes. The Liquid Asset is equipped with a private head (bathroom) inside the console. This is a huge plus for full-day trips and families with children.
We are USCG certified for up to 6 passengers plus the Captain. This is a strict federal regulation for uninspected passenger vessels (often called a “Six Pack” charter). If you have a larger group, let us know—we can arrange a multi-boat flotilla trip with our partner guides!
Yes, you are welcome to bring a small cooler with your preferred snacks and beverages. Beer and wine are permitted (cans only, please—no glass bottles on the boat for safety). We provide a cooler with ice and bottled water.
While not mandatory, a gratuity is standard in the service industry if you enjoyed your experience. The customary tip for a fishing guide is 20% of the charter fee. Our captains work hard before, during, and after the trip to ensure you have a great day.
